John FitzGerald has just launched his debut collection, The Time Being, June, 2021, with The Gallery Press, marking the arrival of a distinctive presence in Irish poetry. He won the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award in 2014 and was shortlisted for a Hennessy Literary Award in 2015. A Chapbook, First Cut, appeared in 2017, followed by, Darklight, a limited edition, in 2019.

A former Key West Literary Bursary (Florida, USA.) recipient, he lives in County Cork and works at University College Cork as a University Librarian.
