Sound of Belfast presents
Song n°1: My Lagan Love ~~ Trad arr. Neil Martin
‘My Lagan Love’ is one of my all time favourite traditional Irish airs. I love the space and breath in the melody, and was honoured to have the wonderful Belfast musician and composer, Neil Martin, write a beautiful arrangement of this air for me during lockdown.’
Song n°2: Parisienne Walkways ~~ Gary Moore arr. Ruth McGinley
‘I was introduced to the music of Belfast Guitar legend Gary Moore by my son Michael who is a guitarist. Every time I hear Moore play Parisienne Walkways it touches my soul... the melody and the passion in which Moore plays is incredible. When asked to be part of Sound of Belfast, and seeing the amazing memorabilia of Gary Moore at the Oh Yeah Centre, my son said, “Ma..you’re gonna play Parisienne Walkways”... so I was inspired to write this arrangement for solo piano.’
